QUESTIONS CONCERNING ELECTRICAL AGGREGATION LETTERS.
Keep an eye out for letters that were recently mailed out to Cortland Township Residents from MC Squared Energy Services, LLC regarding the new contract that would start with your Sept. 2026 billing.
If you are currently on the program or with ComEd, you will receive an OPT OUT letter. If you choose not to participate in the electrical aggregation program, you must follow their guideline to OPT OUT. If you choose to take advantage of this program, do nothing.
If your electrical services is currently participating in Net metering (solar), ComEd hourly, or with a different supplier, you will get an OPT IN letter. You must follow the guidelines to contact MC Squared to participate.

To practice extra safety measures, we are available by appointments, phone or email. Any public comments should be emailed to Ann.cortclerk@gmail.com by 1pm Monday before the meeting, these will be read during the meeting with your name being announced during the meeting.

Our provider for electrical aggregation is
MC Squared Energy Services, LLC.
The rates are as follows:
2 years: 10.3 cents per KWh
ComEd has a fluctuating rate and it is currently higher then our contract now. If ComEd rates would fall below our rate, we will pass that information on to you. You may at anytime remove yourself from the aggregation plan and go back to ComEd, however, you would have to remain with ComEd for 6 months before your could change back if you so choose too. If another company should contact you and you have questions and concerns let us know. MC Squared Energy will NOT come to your house! Do not show your ComEd bill to anybody nor give them your account number or pin number. If any solicitations come to your door and you are uncomfortable and feel this is a scam, or are treated rudely and pushy you may file a complaint with the ICC online at https://www.icc.illinois.gov/complaints/ or by calling 1-800-524-0795. Be sure you have the company name, time and day they called or stopped by and any other information you can provide.
